Acharya Prashant is a true friend. He is a man who is sheperding people to God. We are lost, and he has completely surrendered himself to be a humble servant who brings people to the Truth; that our Father, the creator who molded us out of the earth, and breathed the spirit of life into us, loves us madly, and wants nothing more than to having a loving fatherly relationship with us, and to teach us how we can walk in his light, heart fixed upon the presence of his holy silence, which is our salvation from the restless mind, and the trembling of the world.
The truth of this was revealed 2000 years ago, when over 600 years after the ending of the Jewish Torah, 300 prophecies were fulfilled in it by the coming of the messiah, Jesus Christ, who was God become man out of his mercy for us children lost in darkness, demonstrated to us and example of how we could walk in right relationship with God, and live a holy life of right action.
Acharya Prashant too demonstrates this relationship. Through Jesus Christ’s  life, he revealed to us the nature of God as being a humble servant, and provided us with two laws to follow that will guarantee our salvation from the world, and allow us to walk in his holy light and presence, In relationship with him, which are:
37 Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22: 37 – 40)
Through Jesus Christ, God revealed;
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
This is a simple truth that must be addressed with absolute honesty.
After smoking marijuana for two years straight, I decided to stop for a few nights. At one point about 3 days later, after what I felt as being absolute boredom due to not being high all day, I started asking myself “what do normal people do?”, implying what do non marijuana smokers do all evening to entertain themselves from this restlessness and boredom?
And I saw that marijuana was just my distraction from this restlessness, and the same phenomena was manifesting itself in thousands of ways, when I’m seeing people drinking alcohol, watching trash on the television, talking gossip with their friends, playing video games, shopping, it goes on and on. And I felt a huge lack of hope, seeing the futility in all of our activity, and how it was all temporary distractions from boredom. What are we meant to do?! And my girlfriend Simone, so innocently said; “what’s when people go and become a monk!”
And I felt this uneasiness, a deeper hopelessness, a giving up, a surrender, a dropping to the knees and crying out; “I don’t know what to do, God help me, Lord Jesus, show me how I can walk in your light, because I am like a child lost in darkness.
Out of an earnest yearning for God, the truth revealed itself, God made himself known to me and through his compassion and mercy, gave me rest as he promised;
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
(Matthew 11:28-30)
He allowed me to recognize my identity as a child born of God, unique and perfect as I am, loved unconditionally forever under his watch, in right standing with him, freeing me from the bondage of the world, and needing approval from others. The faith to stand before all men, knowing that you are forever on your knees before God in your heart.
I share this because I have met a lot of you, and I know the pain of this restless mind and it’s search for relationship with God can be challenging when we are lost in darkness. I hope you can trust me enough when I urge you all that are weary to seek rest in Jesus Christ. God provided and easy way to have a relationship with him, a personal conversation with your loving father, and to literally walk in his presence, he is calling you. You know him, he is you.
